As I sit down to reflect on the incredible house cleaning journey that Enovana Green Cleaning has embarked upon over the past 17 years, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride. What began in the late summer of 2007 as a humble experiment by my wife, Amy, and me has blossomed into a trusted brand, serving countless homes across Raleigh, Durham, Cary, and the greater Triangle area in North Carolina. Our story is one of perseverance, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to our core values —health, wellness, and environmental sustainability.
From Triangle Green Cleaning to Enovana Green Cleaning: Approaching 2 Decades of Growth
Seventeen years ago, we started Triangle Green Cleaning with a simple yet powerful vision: to provide a house cleaning service that prioritized the health and wellness of our customers while minimizing the environmental impact of our operations. We believed that green cleaning was not just a trend but a necessary shift towards more responsible and sustainable living. With just a few cleaning tools and some off-the-shelf green cleaning products, we set out to make a difference—one home at a time.
In those early days, we faced numerous challenges. The concept of eco-cleaning/green cleaning was still in its infancy, and convincing customers to switch from traditional cleaning methods to our environmentally friendly approach required both education and trust-building. We worked tirelessly to demonstrate the effectiveness of our green cleaning products and methods, showing our clients that they could have a sparkling clean home without compromising their health or the environment.
Rebranding: Enovana Green Cleaning is born
Our dedication to excellence quickly earned us the trust of homeowners across the Triangle, leading to a growing customer base. As the value of green cleaning became more widely recognized, our reputation as a reliable professional cleaning service spread, and it became clear that our original name, Triangle Green Cleaning, no longer fully encapsulated our vision. In 2016, we rebranded as Enovana Green Cleaning to better reflect our commitment to innovation and sustainability in the cleaning industry.
The decision to rebrand was also influenced by our aspirations to expand beyond the Triangle area. As we explored franchising opportunities, we needed a unique, trademarkable name with local significance. The Eno River, a cherished natural landmark, inspired the name “Enovana,” blending environmental responsibility with innovation. This rebranding was a crucial moment that laid the groundwork for future expansion, enabling us to offer our services beyond the Raleigh, Durham, and Cary markets. While we ultimately decided not to franchise our business, the rebranding was an essential step in our development.
Continued Growth and Success
One of the keys to our success has been our ability to maintain the high standards of service that our customers have come to expect, even as we’ve expanded in size. We understand that each home is unique, and we take pride in offering personalized cleaning solutions that meet the specific needs of our clients. Whether it’s a routine house cleaning or a more specialized maid service, our teams are equipped with the skills and knowledge to deliver outstanding results every time.
Our growth has also been fueled by our deep understanding of the communities we serve. We know that homeowners in Raleigh, Durham, Cary, and the surrounding areas value sustainability, health, and wellness, and we’ve made it our mission to align our services with these priorities. By staying true to our core values and continually seeking ways to improve and innovate, we’ve been able to build lasting relationships with our customers and earn their trust and loyalty.
As our growth continues, our focus remains on delivering exceptional service to our customers while expanding our service offerings. Today, Enovana Green Cleaning proudly serves all of the Triangle, including not just Raleigh, Durham, and Cary, but also other suburbs such as Apex, Chapel Hill, Holly Springs, Garner, and Wake Forest, just to name a few.
Innovating with Carolina Castile Soap
One of the most significant achievements in Enovana’s history has been the development of our very own Castile Soap. This innovation was born out of necessity and a desire to provide our customers with a truly green cleaning experience. Early on, we became frustrated by the limited availability of green cleaning products that met our high standards for safety, effectiveness, and environmental responsibility. Many of the products available on the market contained artificial fragrances, dyes, and other chemicals that we felt compromised the integrity of our mission.
Rather than settling for subpar products, we decided to take matters into our own hands. We began experimenting with different formulations, carefully selecting natural ingredients that were both effective and safe for the environment. After countless hours of research and testing, we developed a formula that was ideal for home cleaning and it became a cornerstone of what makes our house cleaning and maid service unique. This natural soap, made from ingredients like coconut oil, not only enhances our cleaning services but also provides our customers with peace of mind, knowing that their homes are being cleaned with products that are safe for their families and the planet.
As a result of all my research and newly discovered passion for soap making, in 2013, I founded our sister company, Carolina Castile Soap. Carolina Castile Soaps are made from simple, pure ingredients like olive oil and coconut oil, and are free from artificial additives and harsh chemicals. Carolina Castile Soap has brought their innovative product into homes across America (and beyond) for over 11 years now.
Commitment to Sustainability and Advanced Technologies
At Enovana, sustainability is not just a buzzword—it’s a core value that guides everything we do. From the very beginning, we have been committed to minimizing our environmental footprint while delivering top-notch cleaning services. This commitment has driven us to continually seek out new ways to reduce waste, conserve resources, and operate more efficiently.
One of the ways we live out this commitment is through our investment in a fleet of high-MPG vehicles. As our business grew and we began serving more clients across Raleigh, Durham, and Cary, we recognized the need to reduce our carbon footprint. By adopting fuel-efficient vehicles, we’ve been able to significantly reduce our fuel consumption, even as we’ve expanded our operations. This is just one example of how we’ve integrated sustainability into the very fabric of our business.
In addition to our transportation efforts, we’ve also embraced advanced cleaning technologies that enhance our efficiency and effectiveness. We understand that staying at the forefront of industry innovations is essential to providing the best possible service to our customers. That’s why we’ve invested in state-of-the-art cleaning tools and equipment that not only improve the quality of our work but also align with our commitment to sustainability.
For example, we use vacuum systems equipped with HEPA filters to reduce allergens and improve indoor air quality in the homes we clean. These systems are highly effective at capturing dust, pollen, and other airborne particles, making them an essential part of our eco cleaning approach. By using advanced cleaning technology, we’re able to deliver superior results while also contributing to a healthier living environment for our customers.
We’ve also implemented software systems that streamline our operations and enhance our ability to serve our customers efficiently. From scheduling to customer communication, these systems allow us to manage our business more effectively and provide a seamless experience for our clients. Our customers can easily book appointments, track their service history, and communicate with our team—all through user-friendly online platforms.
Building a Family of Dedicated Professionals
One of the pillars of Enovana’s success is our incredible team of dedicated cleaning professionals. From the start, we recognized that the key to delivering exceptional service lies in building a strong, committed team of individuals who share our passion for green cleaning and our commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of our customers.
Today, Enovana is proud to have around 30 employees, many of whom have been with us for over a decade (some as long as 17 years!). This level of employee retention is a testament to the supportive and rewarding work environment we strive to create.
